Set in the idyllic village of Merton-cum-Middlewick, this wartime farce centres on Rev Lionel Toop and his wife, former actress, Penelope.
The arrival of her old friend Clive, on leave from the army, and the presence of local busybody, confirmed spinster, Miss Skillon lead to some hilarious circumstances and misunderstandings.
Throw in Penelope’s bishop uncle, and excitable housemaid, a prisoner of war escapee, and you end up with mistaken identities, too many vicars and a fast-paced evening of comic entertainment!
