Talking Heads

Synopsis

By Alan Bennett

27th April - 2nd May

Three out of First Six Wry and Witty Monologues

The first series of Talking Heads was originally written for television, and for many years has delighted viewers, listeners, readers and theatre-goers alike, winning the coveted Hawthornden Prize in 1989.

Adapted for the stage, Talking Heads shows monologue at its best. Bennett’s characteristic wit and subtlety allow us to see into the lonely, helpless world in which the narrators are trapped. As we learn more about their lives, the wry humour, occasionally dark, serves the dual purpose of entertaining and deepening the pathos.
